There are plenty of jobs available overseas. Go to goarmy.com to learn more.

Good question I will check back and look at the answers. Go army dot com is a horrible answer, I went Go Marines .com and it is not the experience it sounds like your asking for.

    Teaching English.

In many countries, they will hire Americans to teach English with no teaching experience and no degree required. They just want a native speaker.

many… many, many, many… it’s too bad politics in the white house, presidents who have never worked a day in their lives, have been a major obstacle More than the past 15 years… go to construction overseas.com and similar sites… very good luck!

I know nothing about Ukraine…but if I wanted to relocate there I would start by contacting their embassy in the US. The people there would know the laws and some of the possibilities and possible pitfalls.

Research the economy and some of the larger companies which would have jobs of the sort for which you are qualified. Do they hire foreigners? Under what circumstances?

Start learning the language and local customs.

Make contact with Ukrainians living in your community and spend time talking with and listening to them. They certainly have contacts.

Spend time looking at the pay scale and quality of life. How much is housing? Food? Entertainment? Travel? What is the best case scenario? What is the worst? What is your backup plan? What about medical?

The answers to these questions should lead you to more, until you have the information you need.

“International jobs : where they are, how to get them” by Nina Segal.

It’s a printed reference book, and if you have a mid to large sized library in your town/city, it will likely have this or something like it on the shelf.

Online, you can look through the list of sites at http://www.runet.edu/~csc/internation.html or check out http://www.go4constructionjobs.com/location-120.html to find construction jobs in the Ukraine or worldwide.

With any online source of this nature, i would be hesitant to trust any job offers outright, and it can be a good idea to go through an organization, to avoid being frauded. That’s why i suggested the book first – it will have more information in terms of how to safely search and what organizations to contact, etc.

    Hope this helps,
    Your friendly neighborhood librarian
